What is Too Local
I was born and raised in the small town of Lakeshore, Minnesota. As the name suggests, Lakeshore is surrounded by more lakes than you can count. If it’s peak summer and you’re not on the water, you’re probably trying to figure out how to get there. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone, and that sense of community runs deep.
That’s where Too Local was born.
Just off the holy waters of Gull Lake, Too Local became more than an idea. It happened on a late summer night at Zorbaz on Gull—the go-to spot when the sun’s out and the lake’s warm. We had just gotten our drinks and were chatting with the bartender when my buddy Kyle took his first sip.
He leaned back, wide-eyed, and said:
“WOW, that’s stiff… must be because I’m Too Local.”
Right then, it clicked. That phrase wasn’t just funny—it captured exactly who we were and where we came from. A moment later, the idea for Too Local took shape.
What started as a joke between friends quickly grew into something bigger: a brand rooted in hometown pride, lake culture, late-night laughs, and the kind of memories you only make in places like Lakeshore.
And that’s the spirit we bring to everything we create.
